Force Balance Accelerometers
The force balance accelerometer has a classical critically-damped, second-order frequency response. There is no peaking in the response but simply a smooth roll-off above the natural frequency. This property along with the excellent characteristics of the "HP" torquer design makes Columbia accelerometers the best choice for demanding applications where precise DC and near-DC measurements are needed in demanding shock and wide band vibration environments. Columbia force balance accelerometers are available to cover virtually all applications. Low noise, high output units can be used for seismic structure motion studies while miniature, high range versions are optimum for measuring more violent high G environments encountered in many industrial, aircraft and missile applications.

Linear Accelerometers
Columbia Research Labs line of Force Balance Linear Accelerometers offers low cost, high performance, general purpose single axis accelerometers that are ideal for DC and low frequency measurements, with both voltage and current signal ourputs available. Also offered are Columbia's Solid State Sensors and our specialized Airborne Sensors that generate outputs specifically designed to operate from +24 to +32VDC aircraft power, that is excellent for airborne telemetry applications. And our Low Noise Sensors are designed for use in seismic and low level, low frequency motion studies.

High Performance Linear Accelerometers
The sensors featured in Columbia's High Performance Force Balance Accelerometers offer extremely rugged, high performance accelerometers. These sensors are used in applications ranging from severe vibration and shock environments, demanding missile and airborne applications and downhole well servicing applications. Triaxial Linear Accelerometers

Linear Accelerometer Switches
Columbia Research Labs Accelerometer Switch is designed to interface with electrical or mechanical systems to control, safeguard or warn of undesirable variations in DC and low frequency acceleration. This sensor is available with a selectable switch point, single or Bi-polar switch and choice of input power.

Angular Accelerometers
Columbia Research Labs offers Angular Accelerometers that use the fluid rotor concept of sensing angular acceleration resulting in a highly accurate precision Angular Accelerometer that provide excellent bias stability and rejection of linear acceleration. We also offer smaller electrically damped Angular Accelerometers that provide exceptional high frequency characteristics for an angular acceleration within its range of sensitivity. Lastly we offer a Variable Range Angular Accelerometer allowing the customer to change the measurement range of the sensor to meet their requirements.
